POH_XP_002 Section 2.3-2.5; Section 6.1 (Weight and Balance Chart, Loading Chart), 6.2 Sample Loading Charts, 6.3 Operating Weights, 6.4 CG range (pages 17-67 of super-petrel-xp__poh__poh-xp-002-2025-02-03.pdf) · version type
- SIGN CONVENTION: arms are positive FORWARD of the datum (main gear axle). Forward CG limit is the larger arm (13.0 in), aft limit the smaller (8.6 in). Header tanks at -8.3 in are aft of the datum. The profile is marked armsForward, so the app names the forward and aft margins the right way round.
- Aft CG limit is 8.6 in (22 cm) in Section 6, but Section 2.4 prints 8.7 in (22 cm). Using 8.6 in; using 8.7 in is more conservative.
- CG limits are constant with weight; no minimum flight weight is printed. The envelope's lower edge at 925 lb (basic empty weight) is a placeholder, not a printed limit.
- Maximum landing weight = maximum takeoff weight (1500 lb). Maximum empty weight 1050 lb; minimum useful load 450 lb.
- Fuel density not stated. Sample loading shows 30 lb for a 5 USG header tank (implies 6 lb/USG). Usable fuel per tank not printed.
- Nose ballast/baggage is required for solo flight. When pilot + passenger total less than 310 lb (141 kg), ballast is needed in the nose compartment. Lead ballast pieces are 25 lb and 15 lb. Nose compartment maximum is 55 lb including ballast.
- Basic empty weight 924.9 lb at 0.64 in is from the sample loading chart. Use the actual aircraft's Weight and Balance Supplement.
- Default load is pilot and passenger at 175 lb each with full fuel (28 USG), no nose ballast. Occupants total 350 lb, above the 310 lb threshold, so the POH requires no nose ballast. A solo pilot needs nose ballast set by the CG limits.
- Baggage compartment limit (66 lb) may be further limited by MTOW.
- Read from the POH by ZuluCheck and checked by a second reading; verify against your own manual.
