POH Section 2 p. 2-7 (Center of Gravity Limits); Section 6, Figures 6-1, 6-3, 6-5, 6-6, 6-7 and 6-8 (pages 21-106 of 177rg__poh__1978.pdf) · version type

  • Fuel arm is not printed as a number; 111.2 in was derived from the sample loading problem (43 gal = 258 lb, moment/1000 28.7). The Loading Graph (Fig. 6-6) agrees: 60 gal (360 lb) plots at moment/1000 40.0. The 100.0 in printed in the sample weighing form is the arm of the unusable fuel, not of the usable fuel.
  • Fuel max shown as 60 gal = standard tanks maximum usable; total tank capacity is not printed on these pages.
  • Reduced fuel option: 22 gal marker in both tanks = 43 gal (258 lb) usable, or one full + one at 22 gal = 51.5 gal (309 lb).
  • Baggage A + B + hatshelf combined max 120 lb, with no more than 12 lb on the hatshelf. Individual area limits for A and B are not printed separately.
  • MTOW 2800 lb is taken from the CG limits and the sample problem; the Section 2 weight limits page (max ramp/landing) was not provided. The sample shows a ramp weight of 2809 lb, with a 9 lb allowance for start, taxi and runup.
  • CG limits apply with the landing gear extended; the moment change due to retracting the landing gear is +2776 lb-in (POH 2-7).
  • The envelope's lower edge at 1800 lb is the chart's bottom boundary, not a printed minimum weight.
  • Pilot and front passenger arm 94 is for the average occupant; the seat range is 90 to 97 in.
  • Read from the POH by ZuluCheck; the two machine readings disagreed and this was settled by reading the POH pages by hand; verify against your own manual.

For reference only. The aircraft’s approved flight manual and weighing report are the final authority.
