POH Section 2 Weight Limits / Center of Gravity Limits (p. 2-7); Section 6, Figures 6-5, 6-6, 6-7 and 6-8 (pages 20-157 of 172r__poh__txwg.pdf) · version type
- The Loading Arrangements diagram (station arms) was not among these pages. Station arms are derived from the Loading Graph (Fig. 6-6) slopes and the sample loading problem (Fig. 6-5): pilot/front 37 in (12.6/340), fuel 48 in (10.1/210), rear 73 in (16.0/220). Verify against the Loading Arrangements figure.
- Baggage Area 1 arm of 95 in is read from the loading graph and the station range 82-108. The sample problem's 48 lb / 3.4 moment implies about 71 in, which is inconsistent. Verify.
- Baggage Area 2 arm of about 123 in is read from the loading graph (station range 108-142). It is approximate; verify.
- Front seats are adjustable (Sta 34 to 46). The graph line is for an average occupant.
- Fuel: 53 USG is the maximum usable fuel. Total tank capacity is not printed on these pages. A 35 USG reduced-fuel indicator tab is also shown. Fuel at 6 lb/gal.
- Maximum ramp weight is 2457 lb (Normal) and 2107 lb (Utility). Utility category MTOW and MLW are 2100 lb.
- In the utility category, the baggage compartment and rear seat must not be occupied.
- The utility category aft limit of about 40.5 in is read from the dashed line on Fig. 6-8; it is not stated in text on these pages. The utility forward limit at 2100 lb (36.5 in) is interpolated from the normal forward limit line.
- The envelopes start at 1500 lb, the lowest weight on the chart.
- Typical empty weight is from the sample airplane: 1639 lb, moment 64.4 lb-in/1000, giving arm 39.29 in. Use your airplane's actual basic empty weight.
- Read from the POH by ZuluCheck and checked by a second reading; verify against your own manual.
