POH Section 6, Figures 6-3, 6-5, 6-6, 6-7 and 6-8 (pages 47-54 of 172n__poh__txwg.pdf) · version type

  • Envelope vertices read from the Center of Gravity Limits chart (Figure 6-8). Forward limit is 35.0 in up to about 1950 lb, then a straight line to about 38.5 in at 2300 lb. Aft limit is about 47.3 in. Utility category is limited to 2000 lb with an aft limit of about 40.5 in. Verify these against the chart.
  • Fuel arm of 48 in is derived from the sample loading problem (240 lb, moment 11.5). It is not printed as a station.
  • Fuel density of 6 lb/gal is stated in the sample problem.
  • Total tank volume is not printed on these pages. Standard tanks are 40 gal usable; optional long-range tanks are 50 gal usable.
  • Baggage area 1 (or the optional child's seat at sta. 96) is limited to 120 lb and baggage area 2 to 50 lb. The combined maximum for areas 1 and 2 is 120 lb.
  • Front seats are adjustable (sta. 34 to 46). Arm 37 applies to an average occupant with the seat positioned normally.
  • Basic empty weight in the sample includes unusable fuel and full oil. The typical empty arm of 39.6 in is calculated from 1454 lb and moment 57.6. Use your airplane's actual weight and balance record.
  • Maximum landing weight is not printed on these pages.
  • Read from the POH by ZuluCheck and checked by a second reading; verify against your own manual.

For reference only. The aircraft’s approved flight manual and weighing report are the final authority.
